Auditors willing to be active in the Congo Basin are invited to join the PEFC recognized chain of custody initial training on 12 – 13 June 2023.
Attending a PEFC recognized chain of custody initial training is a pre-requisite for an auditor wishing to issue certification against the 2020 PEFC chain of custody related standards, as required by PEFC ST 2003. The 2020 PEFC chain of custody standard is part of the PAFC Congo Basin certification scheme.
Issuing certification against the 2020 standards is only possible after the completion of either initial or refresher training and once you are accredited against the 2020 versions of the standards.

The meeting is open to representatives of companies wishing to participate in the training. They would attend both training sessions as observers but will not be qualified to conduct audits.
The details
The training takes place 9:00-18:00 (UTC +2) on 12 – 13 June 2023 using Zoom.
The training will provide an introduction to the revised 2020 PEFC Chain of Custody standard, focusing on the changes to the input-output process, the PEFC Due Diligence System (DDS), the chain of custody methods and multi-site certification. It will also cover changes to the 2020 PEFC Trademarks and 2020 Certification Body Requirements standards.
The training will be given by PEFC International Technical Expert Linda Matole in English.

Before the training, participants are expected to read the PEFC chain of custody standard and the summary of changes. Registered participants will also be provided with case studies before the training and will need to provide their answers to the technical expert.
Registration and training fees

For auditors only, PEFC, via PAFC Gabon will charge 100 EUR. After your registration, we will send you the bank details to proceed with the payment. Note that your registration will be complete after the payment.
Knowledge test
Following the training, auditors only will have three weeks to complete the online knowledge test. Auditors that pass this test will receive a PEFC recognised chain of custody training certificate within two weeks. Successful auditors will also be added to the PEFC register of trained auditors.
What’s next?
A training on the chain of custody in French will be announced very soon. This training will be only for companies and will not deliver an auditor qualification. During this training, organised in partnership with PEFC France, participants will be trained the PEFC chain of custody standard, as part of the PAFC Congo Basin certification scheme.

Les auditeurs souhaitant être actifs dans le Bassin du Congo sont invités à s’inscrire à la formation initiale sur la chaîne de contrôle reconnue par le PEFC les 12 et 13 juin 2023.
La participation à une formation initiale sur la chaîne de contrôle reconnue par le PEFC est une condition préalable pour un auditeur souhaitant délivrer une certification sur la base des normes relatives à la chaîne de contrôle PEFC 2020, comme l’exige la norme PEFC ST 2003. Le standard 2020 de la chaîne de contrôle PEFC fait partie du schéma de certification PAFC Bassin du Congo.
La délivrance d’une certification selon les normes 2020 n’est possible qu’après avoir suivi une formation initiale ou une formation de mise à jour et après avoir été accrédité selon les versions 2020 des normes.

Les détails
La formation aura lieu de 9h00 à 18h00 (UTC +2) les 12 et 13 juin 2023 en visioconférence via Zoom.
La formation sera composée d’une introduction à la norme révisée 2020 de la chaîne de contrôle PEFC, en se concentrant sur les changements apportés au processus d’entrée-sortie, au système de diligence raisonnable PEFC (DDS), aux méthodes de la chaîne de contrôle et à la certification multisite. Elle couvrira également les changements apportés aux normes 2020 relatives aux marques PEFC et aux exigences 2020 relatives aux organismes de certification.
La formation sera dispensée en anglais par Linda Matole, experte technique internationale du PEFC.

Avant la formation, les participants sont invités à lire la norme de chaîne de contrôle PEFC et le résumé des changements. Les participants inscrits recevront également des études de cas avant la formation et devront fournir leurs réponses à l’expert technique.

Test de connaissances
Après la formation, les auditeurs disposeront de trois semaines pour passer le test de connaissances en ligne. Les auditeurs qui auront réussi ce test recevront un certificat de formation à la chaîne de contrôle reconnu par le PEFC dans un délai de deux semaines. Les auditeurs ayant réussi le test seront également ajoutés au registre PEFC des auditeurs formés.
Prochaines actualités
Une formation sur la chaîne de contrôle en français sera très prochainement annoncée. Cette formation sera uniquement destinée aux entreprises et ne délivrera pas de qualification d’auditeur. Au cours de cette formation, organisée en partenariat avec PEFC France, les participants seront formés au standard de la chaîne de contrôle PEFC, dans le cadre du schéma de certification PAFC Bassin du Congo.
